Free solo strategy / survival RPG prototype that runs inside an AI chat
MaOS - Master of Operational Settlement
Upload the MaOS archive into a clean ChatGPT chat with file upload. The AI becomes the referee, rules interpreter, state keeper, and advisor. You remain the commander: every decision carries risk, incomplete information, and consequences.

Not a prompt. Not a chatbot adventure. A structured game protocol for responsibility before certainty

MaOS is a solo strategy game about building stability under incomplete knowledge.

You are not given a perfect map, perfect information, or a guaranteed solution. Each turn asks you to decide what to protect first: people, infrastructure, supplies, exploration, or long-term autonomy.

The AI chat does not simply tell a story. It runs the game structure: visible state, risks, resources, unresolved problems, and consequences. Your progress comes from preparation, prioritization, and turning crisis management into operational capacity.

BOIS in 60 seconds

BOIS is the reason MaOS does not behave like a loose roleplay prompt.

It keeps facts separate from assumptions, makes unknowns visible, tracks actions and consequences, and stops the AI from turning uncertainty into confident fiction.

In MaOS, BOIS becomes part of the game engine: it helps the AI keep state, evaluate risk, preserve consequences, and ask better questions when the player acts under pressure.
Roadmap
Level 1 is free. Support helps fund clearer onboarding, public testing, and future levels.
  • Level 1 public prototype
    Available now
The first public prototype introduces the AI-installed game format, operational settlement play, resource pressure, risk tracking, and consequence-based decisions.
  • Onboarding improvements
    Next
Clearer first-run instructions, better quick-start materials, and examples that make the first 5 minutes easier to understand.
  • Public testing

    Ongoing
Testing launch clarity, AI statekeeping, balance, risk ledgers, and player feedback from real sessions.
  • Level 2

    Planned
A broader operational layer with deeper consequences and new settlement challenges, without revealing the hidden objective of the game.
What support funds
  • Level 2 development
  • Clearer onboarding and first-run examples
  • Public testing and documentation
  • Process videos showing how the game and BOIS are built
  • BOIS implementation examples for future public releases

MaOS Level 1 is free and open. BOIS:SIMA&BORIS and MaOS are offered as open public work, not as closed products sold behind a paywall.

Support helps fund MaOS Level 2 development, clearer onboarding, public testing, documentation, and process videos showing how the game and BOIS are built.

Patreon is the main support and development-following platform. Ko-fi and Buy Me a Coffee are one-time support options. Support is optional. The public prototype stays open.

Donations do not unlock spoilers, hidden objectives, or a separate paid version of Level 1. They support future development of the project.

About the Author

I was born in the Far East of Russia, in the Jewish Autonomous Region. This game, MaOS, is a consequence of the existence of BOIS:SIMA&BORIS, a compiler core written for my own needs.

This core consists of a set of abstract rules and makes it possible to flexibly configure any sufficiently capable AI for personal use. This game is one clear example of that approach in action. I made it specifically to demonstrate what the core can do — and to show only one very small area of its possible application.
